メトロサは東京・神宮前(表参道)の良好な住宅環境の中にあって比較的小規模の典型的なロフトタイプの集合住宅です。天井を貼らずにコンクリートをそのままインテリアとして生かし、吹抜けのあるメゾネットの立体的な構成や高いドア、スケールの大きなサッシなどによって とてもゆったりとした空間の拡がりが感じられます。全戸が面する美しい中庭は地下2階のレベルにありますが、地上2階から下りてくる白いテントスクリーンや光を乱反射しながら林立するステンレスプレートの垣根が地下を感じさせない明るい開放感をもたらし、この建築の大きな特徴となっています。デザイナーやアーティストに人気が高く入居希望はウェイティング状態です。欧米の各誌で紹介されブルータスなど一般誌でも話題になりました。

Metroça, situated at a fine residential area at Jingumae (Omotesando), Tokyo, is an apartment house which accommodates relatively compact and typical with-loft type rooms. Its extraordinary roomy spaces are provided with concrete roof frame without ceiling, maisonette with stairwell in solid composition, high-rise door and large sash frame. Every unit of the apartment faces a lovely courtyard located at the second basement, where white screen and stainless panels of fence reflect diffusely and, despite the bottom area, bring a bright and open atmosphere which makes the feature of the space. The building is so popular among designers and artists as to keep them waiting for additional vacancies. Metroça has been introduced by numbers of Western and Japanese journals and magazines.
